Welcome to

       Westhaven

"Raven whistled as he walked without regard down the streets of Westhaven.  He nodded and smiled at passers-by, to them he was nothing more than another visitor traveling through.  He need not fear being caught or recognized by peasants who took no note.

He often frequented the taverns and inns in search of food or drink. To locals, the Raven was nothing more than a dark man with deep pockets who had an affinity for black clothing." ~ Assassin's Realm

Fun Fact:

Westhaven was made to be a cute little town. Cobbled streets, thatched roofs, polite peasants that look the other way when someone argues too loud.

But every village in Evonheart has something dark at its roots.

My second chapter, The Pit was written in 2006 before the Silver Sun Pickups released a song by the same title. But when I'm editing, it's on my playlist because it captures the mood I was going for:

"In The Pit, there is no escape."

In a town where one man makes the law, there must be the illusion of justice. The Pit gives Westhaveners that mirage. They believe they're safe from villains, without realizing they themselves are the monsters they fear.
